Mr. Malik has over 25 years of project management experience, specializing in the implementation of large scale electricity distribution, power generation, renewable energy, energy sector reforms, and energy efficiency projects funded by IFIs (WB, USAID, EU, ADB, IFC, KfW, GIZ, and others) and public sector. As Team Lead for $220 million USAID funded Power Distribution Program, He led a team of energy experts to assess the operational performance of electricity distribution companies and deploy improvement mechanisms including Smart Metering, GIS enabled Asset Management, Network Improvement, and Organizational Restructuring resulting in over $133 million increase in revenue. He led World Bank-funded projects for revising Pakistan’s National Energy Efficiency Policy, developing provincial action plans, and capacity building of the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority. As Owner’s Engineer, he has managed over 6GW of power generation projects, including hydro, solar, biomass, and thermal power plants. He holds BA (Hons) and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK and is a Chartered Engineer.
