Climate Change & Urban Infrastructure Development

An accomplished Team Leader for various IFIs.  Expertise in Find Management, Social Protection, and Resilient Infrastructure. Worked in over 30 countries and 63 cities for donors and other agencies including USAID, the Rockefeller Foundation, DFID, the World Bank, UNDP and AusAID. Technical skills in infrastructure development with 25 years of experience in urban and regional infrastructure development, environmental management, political change and social transformation issues related to societal betterment and poverty alleviation.  Through involvement with CIDA, ADB, World Bank and especially DFID initiatives, Azim has brokered partnerships between governments, CSOs/NGOs and other development partners.  He has successfully built relationships and forged alliances between various development agencies, bilateral/multilateral funding institutions and (organized and unorganized) civil society and other actors with a view towards improvement of the human, environmental and economic condition necessary to address poverty. Mr. Baltussen holds a degree in Mechanical and Energy Technology from the High Tech Institute in The Netherlands (1977).
