Client:
Lucky Cement Limited
From 2009 to 2012, PITCO, in collaboration with First Climate AG Zurich Switzerland, executed a waste heat recovery project for Lucky Cement Limited in Karachi, Pakistan. The project aimed to install Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) to recover waste heat from the clinker-making process and use a steam turbine to generate electricity, displacing fossil fuel-based grid electricity.
PITCO’s services included assessing site conditions, conducting economic analysis, and preparing the financial feasibility of the project. Our team evaluated the technical viability of HRSGs, selected the appropriate CDM methodology, and conducted environmental, social, and developmental impact assessments. PITCO prepared a request for proposals for a CDM Validator/designated operational entity (DOE), supported the client in hiring the DOE, and developed the CDM PDD. PITCO assisted with host country approval, conducted stakeholder consultations, prepared a CDM monitoring manual, and provided post-registration support for project monitoring.
