From June 2015 to October 2017, PITCO, as a major subcontractor to Crown Agents International, supported the USAID-funded Support for Privatization Activity in Pakistan. This program aimed to assist the Privatization Commission’s efforts to manage and administer the privatization agenda and reform the corporate governance structure of public sector enterprises (PSEs). The focus was on evaluating, restructuring, and developing business plans for various entities prior to privatization in sectors such as aviation, oil & gas, power, banking, finance, and insurance.
PITCO’s services included conducting skills gap analyses, staffing an expert panel, conducting sector assessments, and developing reports on private investment prospects for each PSE targeted by the Privatization Commission. Our team prepared restructuring roadmaps, evaluated the financial health and operational performance of PSEs, and recommended modes of private participation. The project aimed to create optimal institutional conditions for attracting private investment, supporting the privatization process, and improving the efficiency and governance of public sector enterprises in Pakistan.
