From October 2010 to September 2015, PITCO, in collaboration with International Resources Group (IRG), conducted an operational audit for QESCO under the USAID-funded Power Distribution Program. The audit aimed to improve QESCO’s financial, commercial, and technical standing by establishing baseline performance data and identifying improvement opportunities. The project covered multiple locations within Balochistan, Pakistan, including Sariab, Mariabad, and Industrial areas.

The audit process included evaluating Transmission and Distribution (T&D) losses, with the sample consisting of 3 substations, 13 feeders, and 1482 transformers. Our team performed GIS mapping and load flow analysis using SynerGEE software to calculate technical losses. PITCO conducted HT and LT load flow analysis to segregate technical and non-technical losses and developed HT and LT feeder rehabilitation proposals. The audit provided recommendations for improving transmission issues, distribution system management, and segregation of system losses, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and reduce line losses.
