Client:
ICI Pakistan PowerGen Limited
From 2009 to 2011, PITCO, in collaboration with First Climate AG Zurich Switzerland, implemented a natural gas-based cogeneration project for ICI Pakistan PowerGen Limited in Lahore, Pakistan. The project involved installing a cogeneration system comprising four gas-fired turbines (10 MW) and four Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs, 12.5 tons each) to meet additional energy requirements due to the expansion project. The cogeneration system aimed to efficiently cater to the power and heat needs of the ICI Polyester project.
PITCO’s services included assessing site conditions, conducting economic analysis, and preparing the financial feasibility of the project. Our team evaluated the technical viability of HRSGs, selected the appropriate CDM methodology, and conducted environmental, social, and developmental impact assessments. PITCO prepared a request for proposals for a CDM Validator/designated operational entity (DOE), supported the client in hiring the DOE, and developed the CDM PDD. PITCO assisted with host country approval, conducted stakeholder consultations, prepared a CDM monitoring manual, and provided post-registration support for project monitoring.
