From February 2014 to February 2018, PITCO, in collaboration with Sequa gGmbH (Germany), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) (India), and the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA), implemented the HP Cogen-Pak project under the EU-funded SWITCH-Asia Programme. The project aimed to promote high-pressure cogeneration technologies in the sugar sector, enabling the export of surplus electrical power to the national grid or allied industrial units.
PITCO’s services included preparing detailed feasibility studies and pre-feasibility studies for various sugar mills, developing standardized technical specifications, and conducting training and capacity-building programs for technology providers and sugar mills. Our team also facilitated financial closures for HPC projects, developed project design documents for CDM financing, and conducted training sessions for NEPRA officials on tariff determination. The project aimed to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in the sugar sector, supporting the adoption of high-pressure cogeneration technologies.
